Where Nashville\u2019s Community Comes Together<\/h2>\n

Cheekwood Estate & Gardens is a top five highest-attended destination in Nashville, welcoming 380,000 visitors in 2024. Cheekwood invests more than $1.5 million annually in community outreach programs, welcomes thousands of students through educational field trips, hosts four multicultural festivals, and works with 70 partners from cultural institutions to social service agencies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\"_DSC3013\"<\/div>[\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″]

Cheekwood is committed to embracing and celebrating cultures from around the world.<\/h2>\n

Last year, 14,000 visitors attended the four multicultural festivals including Holi<\/a>, Black Arts Bash<\/a>, Otsukimi (Japanese Moon Viewing)<\/a>, and El D\u00eda de los Muertos<\/a>, the largest Hispanic Celebration in Middle Tennessee.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″]

Cheekwood seeks to inspire a diverse and broad audience through a variety of programs to enhance the mind and body.<\/h2>\n

Through Museums for All<\/a>, we partner with museums across the country to make sure everyone can experience the best museums have to offer, for an affordable price. The program provides $3 admission to families who participate in SNAP, WIC or TANF.<\/p>\n

Through the Blue Star Museum Military Access<\/a>, we offer free admission to the nation\u2019s active duty military personnel and their families.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Cheekwood was voted by readers of the Tennessean and Nashville Scene<\/em> as the \u201cBest Tourist\/Seasonal Attraction<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cBest Outdoor Fun<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cBest Art Gallery<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cBest Summer Camp<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cBest Wedding Venue<\/strong>,\u201d and \u201cBest Place to Take Out of Towners<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Educational Impact<\/h1>\n

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Destination Cheekwood<\/a> hosts free student and family field trips for Title I schools, providing opportunities to enjoy a visit filled with garden, art, and cultural experiences and activities. In 2024, Cheekwood welcomed 13,000 students from 177 different schools.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Family field trips<\/a> bring families to Cheekwood on a Saturday for a visit filled with art, gardens, and history. K-8 students from Title I schools and their families enjoy free transportation, activities, lunch, and a complimentary family membership, giving families opportunities to enjoy the best of our seasonal festivals.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″]

Nurture Your Mind, Body & Spirit<\/h1>\n

According to a Harvard study, time spent in nature is linked to better sleep, lower blood pressure, and improved mental health.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Time spent outdoors] provides a combination of stimulation of different senses and a break from typical overstimulation from urban environments,\u201d explains Harvard Professor of Nutrition and Epidemiology Heather Eliassen. \u201cExposure to green space results in mental restoration and increased\u00a0positive emotions\u00a0and decreased anxiety and rumination. Improved mindfulness can result from exposure to green space as well.\u201d<\/p>\n
