Take your students on a trip to Cheekwood! With 55 acres, a mansion, and an art gallery to explore, they’re sure to discover something new and make memories that last a lifetime.<\/p>\n

For scheduling guided and self-guided student field trips, please note that Cheekwood is closed to the public on Mondays, and due to capacity constraints, does not offer any student field trips when Metro Nashville Public Schools are on breaks. This tour uses artwork as historical artifacts to address Tennessee\u2019s high school Visual Arts and Social Studies standards. \u201cCommon Ground\u201d highlights 19th and early 20th century American art and its shared cultural aspirations and contrasting artistic visions. \u201cCommon Ground\u201d provides a vibrant example for students to learn just how much art reflects and responds to the times.<\/p>\n

This self-guided field trip uses a mentor text to demonstrate potential uses of personification and sensory imagery in nature poetry. As students explore the gardens, they consider the real and imagined points of view of the natural objects and elements they observe on their visit before writing a nature poem of their own.<\/p>\n

Homeschool Mornings<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Join us for themed mornings of drop-in style activities, just for homeschool families. Homeschool Mornings provide in-depth and enriching experiences specifically designed for multi-aged audiences. Come for the activities and bring a picnic to enjoy out on the grounds or stop in at Cafe 29 for lunch. Special discounts will be available on memberships at each Homeschool Morning so that families may return often to continue their learning journey at Cheekwood.<\/p>\n

Homeschool Mornings are most suited for ages 5-10 but all ages are welcome to join.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text el_id=”homeschool-mornings”]<\/p>\n

Tickets for Homeschool Mornings must be purchased in advance and time slots may sell out. All ticketed homeschool guests will be given a wristband at check-in.
